I work in technology and part of the wisdom of experience is knowing certain ideas are X years too early.
After people over 100 years ago realized materials could compute, some were immediately theorizing about objects we now call ‘smartphones’.
It was a learning curve for me to realize it isn’t yet worth pursuing some technology efforts because society won’t be ready for them for another 10-15 years. (usually readiness is some combination of baseline technologies available, competencies, etc.)
