This will slow you down incredibly. Instead of ignoring your seniors/peers, QUESTION their "authoritative" commands. You will learn much, MUCH more that way.
It also might put them in their place if they are massive egoists. Never feed the ego.
I would like to point out that I never suggested that one should ignore their seniors and especially not their peers. I merely suggested that seniority only buys a person so much respect. It's important not to exceed that quota.
